Global Management Challenge 2011, an international championship in company management has finished in Macao, where about thirty teams from national qualifying championships took part. The HSE student team took 5^th place in the final competition. Just back from Macao, the team members shared their impressions of the contest.

In early November the Higher School of Economics and the Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands) signed a partnership agreement.

On October 22nd Robert Johnson, Director of Engineering at Facebook, gave a talk at the Faculty of Business Informatics of the Higher School of Economics, invited by the Department of Innovations and Business in Information Technologies. His talk was devoted to the rise of Facebook from 10 million to half a billion active users.

The Higher School of Economics has become the latest educational institution to endorse the IEEE Computer Society's Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK) and the Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA) credential.

Proceedings of the First International Workshop on Cognitonics were published as part of the proceedings of the International Multiconference ‘Information Society 2009’ . Workshop Co-Chair was Vladimir Fomichev, PhD, Professor of the HSE Faculty of Business Informatics Department of Innovations and Business in Information Technologies.
